Your molten mother called me and she said we should combine

Some of you have noticed that The Holy Life That’s Coming has been taken down from the streaming services. The NNA Tapes Bandcamp page for it, too. (They messaged their followers with a heads-up about it coming down so people who’d bought it could, if they hadn’t, download their purchase.)

I’ve never signed anything while doing deals with labels for my solo albums. I am lucky to own all my own masters and all my publishing. I’ve been in the process of reverting rights on those released-by-a-label albums back to me, gathering everything back together under my control.

The one outlier remains Play Sharp To Me, on Feeding Tube Records. When I contacted them recently to revert it, I found out they still have about 200 vinyl copies available! (I’ve been telling people for years that all physical copies of my music were out of print, but it looks like Feeding Tube might have more than just that one record still available.) Once Feeding Tube sells out of those 200—my other releases with them were physical only, only Play Sharp To Me was both physical and digital, tethered together—that album will also revert back to me.

A few hours ago I rereleased The Holy Life That’s Coming on my own Bandcamp. I know that’s less convenient than the big streamers, but I’m sure you also understand why an artist would choose to eschew the economics of those arrangements, even at a cost to their own accessibility, popularity. (And it’s all temporary anyway. Whatever world, especially in music, you get all your ducks in a row in is soon to crumble. It’s not so crazy to save yourself for something better.)

Having everything together on my Bandcamp (as long as the platform continues to exist as it is) will be nice, but it isn’t the end. No announcements right now, but something promising is on the horizon. There’s a magic little label I’m almost certainly going to be doing some physical pressings with in the future. My whole catalog will be on the table, at hand for choosing from. 💕
