Here’s an idea that popped into my head the other day.

I pictured a Db major scale ascending, while simultaneously an Eb major scale, above it, descended.

I pictured the notes of the initial dyad a major 9th apart, but I didn’t picture the voices crossing. Fulfilling both would require jumping octaves somewhere.

I got the idea (from the first idea) to have the “Eb major” notes (I knew they would be perceived in the key of Db) sound atop the naturally-occurring rising chords in Db.

I found a way to (loosely)* express this on guitar.

*The game of hiding the this is an idea sound—not that that sound is bad, but it’s fun to play off the idea, not just lay it down plain. It’s fun to decorate it, flower the walkway, get some friends in there. 💕
