I’m gradually learning more about what I call the Fifth Beatle: the sus4(b2) tetrachord. Here it is, as constant structure, for the first five chords* of “Stella by Starlight.”

*Em7b5-A7(b9)-Cm7-F7-Fm7

(I often learn more from things like this that I leave unfinished. It keeps the puzzle buzzing, so some part of me keeps reaching for it, toying with it.)
